The Village Where Hope Returned
Earlier this year, our outreach truck rolled into a remote village where access to healthcare is limited. Mothers carried young children on their backs, elderly men leaned on canes, and teenagers gathered out of curiosity.
The Michoes team set up a one-day clinic offering:
• free malaria testing
• HIV counselling
• blood pressure checks
• diabetes screening
• basic treatments
• nutritional advice
A mother named Florence came in with a feverish toddler she feared had malaria. Within minutes, our team diagnosed and treated the child, and the little one began to regain energy by afternoon.
Florence said softly,
“If you had not come, I don’t know what would have happened.”
Her words remind us why these outreaches matter so deeply.
School Health Outreach — Protecting the Next Generation
Michoes also runs school outreach programs, teaching children about hygiene, nutrition, menstrual health, and early disease prevention.
During one visit, our nurses discovered several children with untreated dental infections and skin conditions. Immediate referrals were made, and treatment followed.
The school’s headteacher later remarked:
“Your visit prevented what could have become serious health cases.”
Orthopaedic & Surgical Camps — Renewing Lives
Working with local and international partners, Michoes hosts periodic Orthopaedic Camps and Minor Surgical Camps, where specialized care is brought to communities that rarely have access to it.
During one orthopaedic outreach, a young boy named Denis, who had lived with a poorly healed fracture for years, received proper assessment and was scheduled for corrective surgery at Michoes.
Today, Denis can run again—something his mother feared he’d never do.
Health Talks & Disease Awareness
Outreach isn’t just about treatment.
It’s also about education.
Our teams conduct sessions on:

• cervical and prostate cancer awareness
